Aug 2006 I bought a new 2005 Phantera 150cc with 3 miles on it. A dealer was going out of business and it had been sitting in the showroom for over a year. I thought $700 what a deal! When I was there it started great and ran great. It took 5 months to get the title from Vento so in the mean time I ran it around my street unplated but it only got 6 more mile of use last fall. At the end of the fall I started having issues starting it. It seemed like a battery problem. I could kick start it but the battery would not hold a charge. It got increasingly difficult to kick start it and I gave up for the winter as the closest dealer is 2 hours away. This week I took the battery for testing and it was confirmed as bad so I bought a new one. I now have power to everything but when I tried to start it sounded like it tried twice and that was it. Retested the new battery and the fuse. Lights, horn, alarm all work but it doesn\'t even try to start either by remote or start button. I tried kick starting but that did not work either. Please help.

You will need to clean the carb. More than likely this will solve your problem. In the future be sure to fill your gas tank to the top, drain your carb bowl, and pull the battery out when you store for the winter. Give the battery a 1-hour charge at 1 amp once a month.
