Does anyone know if the item many are calling a fuel pump on my 150 GY6 is really a pump or just a vacuum operated fuel on / off switch?
If it is a pump, I was wondering about the reliability. If it's just an on / off switch, it would probably would not be an issue...

If your fuel tank is located near your feet, you have some sort of fuel pump, probably vacuum operated. If your tank is up high in the back you probably have a vacuum operated fuel tap. Both have given me trouble in the past. Many opt for an electric fuel pump to replace a failed vacuum unit.
