170cc Screamer kit - Has anyone Installed one? 1 Year ago Karma: 0
I recently purchased a 170cc Screamer kit for my Vento Phantera. The kit comes with a pre-drilled crankcase, cylinder, head, cam, bearings and some other parts. However, my mechanic has run into a problem. The stock crankshaft from my Vento sits too tight in the crankcase when you bolt the cover on, and therefore, will not turn over. Has anyone out there installed this 170cc Screamer kit, and if so, what type/brand/size crankshaft did you use that fit correctly? Or if anyone knows anyone who has done this kit can you ask them for us?

Hey there,
I too have a Vento Phantera 2006. What type of performance increases do you expect from this upgrade? What is the cost with installation? Thanks. Any help would be appreciated. I am looking to upgrade mine as well.

Stevie Boy.

I can't say what kind of performance I expect from it, since we are having trouble installing the 170cc kit, and I haven't found anyone else that has done it. I can say that for a while, I had a 155cc head and cylinder on there with a high lift cam, 30mm carb and a higher final gear set. I was hitting about 70mph with that setup, but did not last long. The cam chain stretched somehow and then damaged the crankcase. I decided to try the 170 kit since it came with a crankcase, but have decided it is not the best way to go. I have also since bought another 150cc scooter, which I am keeping stock. If I have to give advice, I would say to stay stock. I learned my lesson the hard way. Of course if I ever DO get the 170cc kit working I might change my mind!

I put a the PSF HP150 Carbon Fiber exhaust on. I also have 9gram roller weights installed as well as an iridium spark plug. My scoot has done 70mph quite a few times depending on weather and stuff. The funny thing is I was getting this same performance BEFORE I did all of these upgrades. Thanks for the response.
