I wish I would have got back to this topic sooner to save you that aggravation, man. I talked to Greg, who I believe is the owner of Blacktop about the problem and he said that there was a run of those bikes with bad/mismatched speedos. A new gear won\'t help, I\'m afraid. You need to get the whole dash, which is a little pricey. I did get the new dash, however, and I\'m glad to say it works great. There is a little bit of rewiring to do because the lights are different on the new dash, but it wasn\'t that big a deal. If you\'re really into fixing this problem, get the dash from Greg, then check back here and I\'ll tell ya what you need to do to rewire.

Yes, that is the one. Notice it only has the one light for the flasher indicator. That is the part you have to rewire for. It involves swapping a couple of wires around on the speedo harness. Let me know if you need help.

Did you end up replacing your speedo gear with this part? http:// www.blacktopmotorspo rt.com/ SPEEDOMETER_GEAR_p/ 44200j5bt000.htm
I spoke to the guy from Blacktop and he said that this is the correct gear for the RX8. I am going to order the new dash soon.

Thanks

Nope, didn\'t need the gear after all. Just get the speedo, that should fix you up.
