electrical problem 3 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
I have a 2004 Vento Phantom r4i. Ran fine last season. This season the battery was dead. I put in a brand new fully charged battery. Bike started fine, rode it about 10 miles. A week later when I tried to start it, the battery was dead. Can anybody tell me where to start looking for the trouble?

Thanks for responding. I disabled the alarm. After a while it re-activates all by itself. I know, it sounds wierd. There must be a problem with the alarm module. I notice that there is a fuse in the hot wire going into the alarm module. I am hoping that I can pull the fuse and permanently disconnect the alarm without messing anything else up. What do you think?

Pulled the 8A fuse feeding the red wire on the alarm unit. Alarm disabled. Nothing else adversely affected. Thank goodness I'm rid of that chirp.
