I recently popped my drive cover off and took the plunge...
I put in Dr Pulley 10g rollers/slides, and a new Polini Kevlar belt. The only challenge was that the belt seemed a bit smaller than my stock belt, which made it hard to squeeze on. I had to pull enough to force the clutch to open a bit and move it forward on to the variator.
But it accelerates much more smoothly now. I did lose some top end--I now max at 54 MPH, where I used to get to 58-ish.
I am putting a windshield on next week.
Is there a way to improve performance via air filter replacement? the stock filter does not seem optimal.
I\'m not vainly trying to spend money, but if I can increase performance for a small investment, I\'m willing.
thanks,
John

You may get some of that speed back as the new belt gets worn in. It\'s been my experience that once the rough edges get worn off the cogs and the belt gets a bit more limber, you get back some of the speed you initially lose with a belt change.
