I was reviewing the Two Stroke Maintenance Chart posted in the Guides/FAQs section of this web site and noticed the topic of "Decarbonise The Muffler Assembly." I was wondering how this is accomplished?

Remove & disassemble the exhaust, clean out all the carbon that you can, then repack/reassemble and reattach.

Thanks Rob for that information!
I've have found the online Guides/FAQ to be most informative. I only wish Vento was that helpful. Recently I tried your suggestion of the Iridium spark plug. Not only does the scooter start better, but it idles a lot smoother as well.

I used a small steel brush with no water or solvents or anything. There was really only a little build up around where the muffler connects to the pipe.
Are there any restrictions on the exaust of the 50cc vento/UM?
