Squeaky Brakes on Brand New Triton LI 2 Years, 11 Months ago Karma: 0
I just bought a new 2007 Triton LI. When I go to stop at a stop sign, my front brakes squeak. What can I do to fix that? Thanks in advance.

Squeaky Brakes on Brand New Triton LI 2 Years, 11 Months ago Karma: 0
I have a 2007 Triton Li as well and I am beginning to think a squeaky front brake is the nature of the beast.

When I first noticed the problem on my bike the dealer thought is was related to dust from the pads. I blew out the caliper and pads the best I could with compressed air and then wiped down the rotor with lacquer thinner. This solution lasted a couple of days before the squeak returned. The dealer then suggested braking hard as he felt the pads were developing a glazed finish on them. His thought was that the hard braking would clean the surface of the pads. I braked hard on many occasions with no luck and it seemed that the front brake now developed a pulsing sensation when applied. Not to mention my Triton now sounded like a cheap 10-speed everytime I braked. I returned the bike back to the dealer and he tried the hard braking trick as well with no luck. The dealer then warranty replaced the pads and rotor as we felt the rotor may have warped due to all the hard braking. The new parts quieted the bike for about a week before the squeal returned. I then tried removing the pads and lightly sanded them as well as cleaned rotor with lacquer thinner. The results of this latest fix are some what limited. The brake is fairly quiet and I have only noticed the squeal on humid days when I brake lightly to a stop. I can live with that.

This has been my experience so far and hopefully someone will stop by with a better idea.

Front squeaky brake 2 Years, 11 Months ago Karma: 0
I bought a new Triton LI in July and had the same issue with the front brake. I applied the brakes fairly hard but not real hard. My brakes haven\'t squeaked hardly at all. When they do start to squeak a little, I just do the hard brake a little. From what I can tell this is centering the brakes over the rotor. I think the calipers are sticking on the guides.

Just be glad they work, Give them 1-3 years and all the rubber parts will have gone south and the squeak will be gone, Cheap junk from China is the problem,

Do you know of any better brake pads that can go on the Vento Triton LI? Thanks in advance.

I haven\'t had to look yet because mine are ok as of now. Look on some of the after market scooter sites. They might have something to help you out.
