There\'s no bendix. The starter gear unlike a car is always engaged
into the large gear you are spinning with your finger. That\'s why it
must be a one way drive clutch. Without the clutch the starter would
be spun by the motor once it started and be worn out in no time.

thought of (it was far out there, and by no means right) was that
somehow the polarity got crossed and it was spinning the wrong
direction. I\'m also working on fixing the kick starter (which one
will be fixed first, dun dun DUN!!!) by using a mountain of steel
epoxy, rather than replacing the entire transmission plate, we\'ll
see

Ack! Well then what theories are left other than my crazy polarity
cross, and maybe... could it be a spacer that broke loose or
something?? Oh and my clutch is not on the transmission side, it\'s on
the magento side, but INSIDE the engine casing. Taking off the tranny
cover/belt/variator got me nowhere (not that I expected it to, I was
going in to fix the kickstart mount).

If your starter clutch is inside the engine casing on the magneto
side then it\'s unlike any bike I\'ve ever seen. Sorry, I can\'t help
you.
