I hang mine down as well if you point it up and it gets clogged pressure can
build up in the crankcase, and when you open the oil filler it WILL spray
all over you the bike and the place you have it sitting, I have had this
happen to me I took the tube off compleatly at the valve cover, and yes if
you do the motoman breakin you won\'t be getting blowby and the pistons seat
much better, i\'ve done BOTH on the same bike, motoman breakin is much better
get higher preformance than the old slow breakin.

I hung it down, Back and to the side, I did the Motoman break-in and
had no blow by and if I did I would not run it over.

Paul,
The motoman breakin is great and I strongly believe in it myself.
30+years of racing experience proved it to me.
As to the hanging down or pointing up of the hose.
Up or down if it gets clogged, same problem.
As to hanging it down and "IF" any oil came out of it, I sure wouldnt want
to be on it, no matter what. I dont care if you tied it off the the side.
The scooter isnt wide enough to hang it far enough away to keep all the oil
from hitting that rear tire. Wind, leaning the bike over in a curve, etc.
will ensure the at the exact wrong moment that it might happen is just when
you dont need it to happen.....
I have seen older bikes that had the vent hoses ran down the back of the motor/frame tube
and when all of sudden the motor blew oil out the vent hose and soaked the tire.
You dont want to have that experience even if you have lots of riding experience, let alone a newbie
on a scooter.
The really best way is to run it up to a vented catch can... That way "if" any gets blown up into it,
it will drain back down into the motor when ever it is slowed down. and you dont get any blown out
over the motor or god forbid, the rear tire........
(I agree with you, Who wants to ride slow !)

Thanks for all of your advice. I do have it ziptied to the frame now
with a scrap of t-shirt on the end, I think I will make a catch can
for it to empty in if I should get any oil blow by. Thanks again.
