Guide illustrating the location of the fuel filter, along with instructions for removal, cleaning and replacement.

Your inline fuel filter should be cleaned or replaced at 2480 miles, then replaced according to the maintenance chart.

Your inline fuel filter is connected to one of the two hoses that come off of the fuel tap on the gas tank. Probably the best method for removal for cleaning or replacement is to kink the lines going into the filter at both ends (fold the lines in half like you would a garden hose, then use bread ties or something similar (washer?) to hold the line in place so gas doesn't spill everywhere), then remove the lines from the filter. There is a black rubber housing around the filter, and it has some windows on either side so you can see if there is any debris trapped inside. The lid of the filter will unscrew, giving access to the little screen inside. You can clean it, but it's plastic so be careful what kind of solvents you do use to clean it up. Also don't cross thread the cap when you put it all back together.
